John Higgins has endured a brutal Tour Championship campaign in Manchester, suffering the heaviest defeat of his 34-year career after losing 10-1 to China's Zhao Xintong, who went on to claim his first Tour Championship title with a stunning 10-3 victory over world number one Judd Trump. Higgins' earlier hopes of a deep run were buoyed when he produced a superb fightback to beat Mark Selby 10-8 from 8-5 down in the semi-finals, only to come crashing back down against Zhao's in-form performance. Elsewhere, young Polish sensation Michal Szubarczyk made history by becoming the youngest player ever to win a World Championship match at just 15 years old, while former semi-finalist Marco Fu cruised through qualifying with a dominant 10-1 win, keeping alive hopes of a return to the Crucible.
